Alex De La Rambelje

Alex De La Rambelje is an illusionist in the tradition of turn-of-last-century sleight-of-hand wizards like Harry Houdini, whose mastery of manual dexterity left their audiences breathless.

Alex is an intriguing performer who has the capacity to play at once with reality and fantasy. The idea that a good performer can make you enjoy the disarming sensation of deception influenced him to write his Honours paper on the theatricality of magic. He recently joined the Australian Society of Magicians and promptly won the professional category in their annual competition. Earlier this year Alex bought theatre and illusion together when he directed a ‘magic production’ of Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
